He started his career in 1959 in JORNAL DO BRASIL, going right after to the newspaper TRIBUNA DA IMPRENSA, where he followed JANIO QUADROS covering his victorious campaign for the Presidency of the Republic.

He acted as a reporter on economy in JORNAL DO COMMERCIO, the oldest and the most respected newspaper about economy in Brazil and he also worked for ÚLTIMA HORA, where he covered the military regions in the period which preceded the Revolution of 1964, which ascended the militaries to Power.

For several years he was one of the editors of the newspaper O GLOBO, the biggest Brazilian newspaper. He studied accounting at SINDICATO CONTABILISTAS DO ESTADO DA GUANABARA (Union of Accountants of the State of Guanabara), currently RIO DE JANEIRO and he was graduated in Law by the University of the same state.

Heis a member ofthe National Academy of Economy.

Retired, he currently lives in the city of São Paulo, where he provides  consulting services to foreign entrepreneurs who are willing to invest or make business partnerships in Brazil.
